February Meeting

Clear skies over Rodington ...

greeted 50 observers who were served up excellent views throughout the evening, with class 1 conditions.  Early starters were treated to the conjunction of Venus and Mars watched over by a crescent moon. Very keen starters would have seen the ISS pass between the Moon and Venus - what a photo opportunity!  The main meeting discussed the partial eclipse on the 20th March as well as launching our photographic competition - watch this space!  On returning outside telescopes were focused on a wonderful Jupiter, as well as scanning the winter constellations including Orion, Taurus and Gemini.  On leaving the car park I left several members making the most of the conditions and preparing to image well into the night.  I hope they share their results.
