50 members were treated to ...
a very informative and thought provoking talk by Michael Bourke on the 'life of Kepler'. The illustrated presentation was laced with humour and personal comments. The conversations continued over refreshments before the congregation drifted outside to explore the night sky. With a wide range of instruments on offer, views of Saturn and M31 were always to attracted attention. A warm welcome was extended to new members who had hidden their scopes in the boot of their cars. They were however encouraged to set them up and supported by members gain confidence in their use. As the nights draw darker September is a good month to search for Mercury and Neptune and do not forget the lunar eclipse in the second half of the month. Good opportunities to get snapping for the Photographic competition.
